Once you have acquired a new diving wetsuit, you want to keep it in good condition as long as possible. A quality wetsuit would cost no less than three hundred dollars. Whenever there are cuts and splits or with times stitches lose their strength, you might consider fixing it using wetsuit repair glue. Not having to replace it with a brand new wetsuit will save you big bucks. But how can one deal with the rips and tears?

In case there are cuts and splits in neoprene fabric, neoprene contact adhesive can be used for repair. Neoprene contact adhesive can usually be purchased at any good dive or surf shop or online. It is used for repairing wetsuits, dry suits, fishing waders, rubber boots and gloves. It is ideal for patching and bonding neoprene edge to edge, making repairs in just five minutes. Simply apply the repair glue to both edges of the neoprene fabric. When it feels touch dry, hold the edges together and press firmly for best results.

Follow the simple steps to apply wetsuit repair glue for neoprene fabric:

  1. Wash the surfaces to be glued with clean water. Keep repair areas clean, dry and free of grease.
  2. Apply a thin layer of glue to repair areas. Allow to dry for 5 to 10 minutes.
  3. Apply another layer of glue. When it feels dry to touch, align and press firmly to join the edges together. Hold firmly in place for long lasting repairs.
