Wall hooks are great for hanging up towels, clothes and tools in the bathroom, shower and kitchen. It is not complicated to install hooks, but for those who do not want to drill holes on the wall, a tube of nail-less glue will be a better choice.

A so-called nailless glue is usually silicone based. Silicone glue has adhesion as strong as nails; a silicone-bonded hook can bear weight up to 6 kilogram. Silicone glue is ideal for bonding between ceramics, glass, hard plastics and stainless steel. It also has the advantages of being water resistant and temperature resistant.

Although being so useful, silicone glue has a major disadvantage. Acetic curing silicone glue releases acetic acid in curing, which makes it slightly corrosive to metal and reactive to alkaline materials such as marble. Silicone glue is moisture sensitive and cures at contact with air or moisture. It is therefore essential to have silicone glue tightly packaged and properly stored so that it will not cure and dry up before use. For installing hooks on the wall, a small tube of glue is a more sensible choice than a 100 or 200 gram pack since the former is significantly cost effective.
