Kids love playing with water in summertime. Who wouldn’t enjoy an afternoon break at the pool anyway? When it comes to having fun with water, an inflatable swimming pool will do in the backyard. However, it happens when pool liner gets puncture. It is possible to mend the puncture by oneself, either using repair glue or simply applying self-adhesive swimming pool patch. These self-adhesive patches are pre-glued with pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) specially formulated for holding inflatable products.

One advantage of using self adhesive swimming pool patch is that no liquid adhesive is needed. Simply peel off the backing and stick the patch down on to the area to be repaired. A swimming pool patch works perfectly on fast set pools, inground swimming pools and above ground swimming pools. They also mend other inflatable items including airbed, spas, pool floats, as well as inflatable boats. (Reference: Choose Between Vinyl and TPU Tape )

Tips for Applying Swimming Pool Patch

How to mend rips and tears using self adhesive repair patches? Applying these patches is as easy as applying stickers, although some preparations are highly recommended. Below you can find the essential tips regarding applications of glueless repair patches.

– Although some repair patches are water resistant and can be used on moisture surface, it is suggested that you keep the damaged surface dry and clean to achieve the best results.

– Sand down the surface to be repaired if possible, using a piece of sandpaper or simply a small pebble. The roughened surface will allow the adhesive to hold tighter and longer.

– Once you have applied the patch, press firmly against the surface for a few minutes and force out any air bubbles trapped in the middle.

– The glueless patch can be used to mend the inflatable section of a fast set pool and can also repair a puncture in the water holding part. For extra protection, put one patch on the outside and another one on the inside.

– Allow at least 4 hours for the repair area to dry away from heat and humidity before you re-inflate and use the item again.

– You will need larger patches if you are dealing with bad cracks.

– It should be noted that these patches work well on smooth PVC and similar plastic materials. They would not work well if put on the velvet side of an inflatable item.
