Nothing compares to a summer getaway at the beach. Jump on an inflatable boat and take the paddles. Now you can float on the water mindlessly and just relax. But wait, why is there a psssssshhh sound?

Brand name inflatable products are of good quality, air leaks rarely happen if the article is in normal use. But in case you need to fix a leak, you can find a compact repair kit inside the package, including a tube of repair glue and a piece of transparent patch. Here are the simple steps to get the repair job done.

1. Locate the puncture hole in the inflatable boat. Mark the punctured area with a ball pen so that you can find it easily when making repairs.

2. To get a better result, lightly sand the area surrounding the punctured area using sandpaper. This way you make scratches on the surface and the glue can adhere well later on. The area sanded should be large enough, with the sphere at least 1 inch away from every point of the puncture.

3. Clean the sanded area, leaving no dust, grease and moisture.

4. Cut the repair patch into a circle or an oval shape that is a bit smaller than the sanded area.

5. Apply a thin layer of repair glue to the sanded area. Wait 30 seconds to 1 minute for the glue to get thick. Now stick the repair patch to the sanded area, trying not to leave any air in between.

6. Press the patch firmly for 3 minutes to help the glue adhere tightly to the article. Start pressing from center and then all over the area to force out all the air bubbles in between.

7. Allow at least 4 hours for the glue to fully dry and then you can inflate the article again.
