The summer is finally here! For those who are already longing for sunbath, swimming, scuba diving and all sorts of water sports, a vinyl repair kit is always a thoughtful companion to inflatable items. A reliable repair kit ensures that the fun won’t stop just because of a small pinhole in the swim rings, inflatable boats or air mattresses. Do you know, however, that a reliable repair kit should be easy to apply, even in WET CONDITIONS?

Here are some tips for repairing a pinhole or a slit underwater, using a self adhesive repair patch.

Tools to have: A piece of PVC pre-glued repair patch made of industrial-strength adhesive.

How to patch a pinhole?

1.  Locate the pinhole, rip or tear in the inflatable item or the pool liner. Inspect the damaged area and measure the diameter of the area to be repaired.

2.  Cut out a rounded or oval-shaped piece of self adhesive repair patch, which should be at least three times larger than the pinhole, rip or tear. Do not peel off the backing paper yet.

3.  Take the patch and swim down to the damaged area. Now peel off the backing paper and stick it fast to the area to be repaired, fully covering the pinhole. Press firmly.

4.  Under optimal operating temperature 50~104°F (10~40ºC), it takes 4 hours for the patch to fully dry out and cure.

Isn’t that easy! With a reliable repair patch kit, we can make the summer fun go on!
