3 Factors That Affect Glue Tube Quality

For product developers of adhesive glue, the most important issue might be glue tube quality; that is, how strong and sticky the glue performs for its intended use. However, the way of glue packaging is also essential when it comes to consumers’ perceived quality of the product.

Glue Tube Quality - Shin Dorn USAGlues are chemicals with differing technical features. Some glues dry fast and should be kept strictly airtight.

Some glues react more easily to moisture or air and thus tend to have shorter shelf life.

Still others are a bit corrosive and should be filled and stored in specially prepared container.

For adhesive glues that are filled in aluminum collapsible tubes, there are three factors on the package that would affect the glue quality significantly.

#1: Internal coating (internal lacquering): Before glue filling, the inner wall of aluminum collapsible tube is sprayed with a layer of epoxy-phenolic resin, which is a special material resistant to chemicals such as acid, alkali, water and solvent. Depending on the features of the contents to be filled, an extra layer of internal coating might be considered necessary.

#2: Latex lining: At the open end of the tube, the inner wall is lined with latex. This latex band will help sealing more effectively once the tube end is folded, preventing moisture and contaminants from penetrating into the tube.

#3: Sealing: Sealing is made by automatic machine and is the final step to having contents tightly stored in the tube. For contents that are sensitive to moisture and contaminants, double saddle fold, instead of single saddle fold, is recommended.

Shin Dorn offers empty aluminum collapsible tubes and also provides filling and packaging services for adhesive glue or industrial grease products. For more information, please contact Shin Dorn’s sales team at EMAIL
